Glastonbury Monk
2003In the summer of 2002 I visited Glastonbury Abbey and enjoyed a presentation of a traditionally dressed 'monk' in the old Abbots Kitchen. This sculpture was based on this monk. I have put a chalice in his hand, which he is offering it to you. - Timber: walnut

2001In the museum 'Catharijneconvent' in Utrecht, The Netherlands, I saw the original of this sculpture. It was carved in oak in the eastern part of The Netherlands in 1499. I was so impressed by it's beauty, that I attempted to make a copy. It took many, many hours of study and carving to get close to the original - timber: walnut
