In the museum 'Catharijneconvent' in Utrecht, The Netherlands, I saw the original of this sculpture. It was carved in oak in the eastern part of The Netherlands in 1499. I was so impressed by it's beauty, that I attempted to make a copy. It took many, many hours of study and carving to get close to the original - timber: walnut
